Chelsea and I worked together on the "You Decide" picture and if it should go up on the homepage. We both decided that it wasn't hard to make a decision because we had the same
opinion about whether the video game image should go up on the
homepage. We both thought that the image didn't seem to affect us
negatively or make us think about the image as a threat. Even though the
animation seems "realistic" the concept is fake. We don't feel the need
to be violent from looking at this image because we know that it is not
real.
I think that video games can be a form of art depending on the animation. I know that it takes a lot of time to think of the game type and what it will come out to look like. All of the images I saw weren't very offensive they all were animated and kind of cartoon like. I knew they were fake. They looked pretty realistic but not enough to make me believe that they were real. I thought it was simple to decide if it was okay to put on the homepage. The image wasn't very harmful to me. It may have had a robot shooting something but robots aren't real which made me not believe it could harm anyone. The quotes were pretty good quotes but they definitely did not change my mind in any way. A lot of people play video games not because they are violent or to take their anger out but because it is fun.
